Leanza Cornett
Eva Leanza Cornett (June 10, 1971 – October 28, 2020) was an American television personality and beauty pageant titleholder. She was crowned Miss Florida 1992 and Miss America 1993. Cornett hailed from Big Stone Gap, Virginia, and graduated from Terry Parker High School in 1989. As Miss America, she advocated for AIDS awareness, making her the first titleholder to adopt this platform. Cornett refused to wear the Miss America crown at public appearances. In addition to her pageant achievements, Cornett portrayed Ariel in the live-action show 'Voyage of The Little Mermaid' at Disney's Hollywood Studios in 1991. She was also a member of the Christian music group Area Code.
