Ledisi Anibade Young, known professionally as Ledisi, is an American R&B and jazz recording artist, songwriter, music producer, author, and actress. Born on March 28, 1972, Ledisi formed a band in 1995 and released her debut album, 'Soulsinger,' independently. After re-releasing the album under Tommy Boy Records in 2002, Ledisi gained recognition for her soulful vocals and received critical acclaim. She followed up with her second album, 'Feeling Orange but Sometimes Blue,' which won 'Outstanding Jazz Album' at the California Music Awards. Ledisi continues to release music and has established herself as a prominent figure in the R&B and jazz genres.
