Lee Ingleby Biography
Lee David Ingleby (born 28 January 1976) is an English actor known for his work in film, television, and stage. He gained recognition for his role as Detective Sergeant/Detective Inspector John Bacchus in the BBC drama Inspector George Gently. Ingleby also portrayed Stan Shunpike in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and Paul Hughes in the BBC drama The A Word, where he played the father of an autistic child. He was born in Burnley, Lancashire and attended Edge End High School before studying at Accrington and Rossendale College and later at LAMDA in London. Ingleby's early breakthrough came with his role in the 2000 BBC miniseries Nature Boy and he also appeared as Smike in a 2001 television film adaptation of The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickleby.
