Lee Isaac Chung Biography
Lee Isaac Chung (born October 19, 1978) is an American filmmaker known for his debut feature film Munyurangabo (2007), which was an official selection at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival. He gained widespread recognition for directing the semi-autobiographical film Minari (2020), which received numerous awards and nominations, including a Golden Globe Award for Best Foreign Language Film. Chung also directed an episode in the third season of the Star Wars series The Mandalorian in 2023. Born in Denver to a family from South Korea, Chung grew up in rural Lincoln, Arkansas and attended Lincoln High School. He later studied biology at Yale University before pursuing a career in film.
