Lee Latchford-Evans (born 28 January 1975) is an English singer, dancer, and stage actor. He is best known as one of the five singers of the British pop group Steps. Born in Ellesmere Port, Evans adopted his middle name, Latchford, professionally to differentiate himself from comedian Lee Evans. Before his music career, he aspired to be a footballer and had trials with several football clubs. Evans starred in a school production of Grease and later attended the Cheshire School of Dance and Drama. In 1997, he joined Steps, and the group went on to sell 14 consecutive Top 5 singles, a record only surpassed by the Beatles at the time.
