Lee Sang-hee Biography
Lee Sang-hee (born 1945) is a retired South Korean General. He served as the 32nd Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Republic of Korea Armed Forces and the 41st Republic of Korea Minister of National Defense. Lee graduated from the Republic of Korea Military Academy in 1970 and Seoul National University in 1974. During his military career, he held various high-ranking positions including Commanding General of the 30th Infantry Division, Director General of the Policy Planning Bureau, and Chief Director of Strategy & Plans. In 2003, he was promoted to a 4-star General and assumed command of the Third ROK Army. Lee served as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff from 2005 until his retirement.
