Leif Sylvester

Leif Sylvester Petersen, born on 18 April 1940 in Copenhagen, is a Danish painter, graphic artist, musician, and actor. He initially trained as a carpenter but has simultaneously pursued a career in music and art. Sylvester gained recognition in the late 1960s when he, along with Erik Clausen, exhibited their work on the streets and started performing satirical entertainment. Alongside his artistic endeavors, Sylvester formed the band Sylvester and Swallows and released multiple albums. While primarily focusing on his art, Sylvester occasionally appears in films. Notably, he exhibited at Sofie Holm and has a bronze sculpture called 'That's it' displayed in a public space. Sylvester-Petersen's family grave can be found at Assistants Cemetery in Copenhagen.
