Leila Hoffman

Leila Hoffman (née Rothstein) (born 11 June 1934) is an English comedian, actress, and writer. She is best known for her role as Dot Treacher in the BBC Three sitcom, How Not to Live Your Life. Hoffman has also appeared in online BBC comedy sketches with the group This is Wondervision. Her film credits include Magicians (2007), Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (2001), Felicia's Journey (1999), and The Witches (1990). Additionally, she has made appearances on television, including the role of Mrs Rossiter in Doctor Who. Hoffman was born in Hackney to Jewish parents and married Alfred Hoffman in 1960.
