Lena Olin is a Swedish actress known for her versatile performances in film and television. Born on March 22, 1955, she began her acting career under the mentorship of renowned filmmaker Ingmar Bergman. Olin made her debut in Bergman's Face to Face (1976) and went on to star in his films Fanny and Alexander (1982) and After the Rehearsal (1984). She gained international recognition for her role in The Unbearable Lightness of Being (1988). Olin's portrayal of a Jewish survivor in Enemies, A Love Story (1989) earned her an Academy Award nomination. She also received critical acclaim for her role as an abused wife in Chocolat (2000).
