Sir Lenworth George Henry, known as Lenny Henry, is a British actor, comedian, singer, television presenter, and writer. Born on August 29, 1958, in Dudley, England, he gained fame in the late 1970s and early 1980s as a stand-up comedian and impressionist. His African-Caribbean roots were a prominent theme in his material. In 1984, he hosted The Lenny Henry Show, and he co-founded the charity Comic Relief with Richard Curtis in 1985. Throughout his career, he has appeared in various TV shows, including Tiswas, Chef!, and The Magicians. Lenny Henry has also taken on acting roles in both stage and screen productions. Currently, he appears in the Amazon Prime series The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. He serves as the chancellor of Birmingham City University.
