Leon Redbone Biography
Leon Redbone (born Dickran Gobalian; August 26, 1949 – May 30, 2019) was a singer-songwriter and musician known for his jazz, blues, and Tin Pan Alley classics. Born in Cyprus with Armenian ancestry, Redbone made his first stage appearance in Toronto, Canada, in the early 1970s. He gained recognition for his signature style, often seen wearing a Panama hat, dark sunglasses, and a black tie. In addition to his musical career, Redbone appeared in films and television shows, showcasing his talent in acting and voice-over roles. He released a total of eighteen albums, and is best known for singing the theme song of the 1980s TV series Mr. Belvedere. Redbone's origins and stage name remain elusive and undisclosed.
