Lia Williams

Lia Williams (born 26 November 1964) is an English actress and director known for her work in stage, film, and television. She gained recognition for her portrayal of Wallis Simpson in the TV series The Crown. Williams had a breakthrough performance in 1991 in The Revengers' Comedies, winning the Critics' Circle Theatre Award for Most Promising Newcomer and receiving an Olivier Award nomination for Best Comedy Performance. She also originated the role of Carol in the London production of David Mamet's Oleanna in 1993. Williams has collaborated extensively with Harold Pinter, appearing in plays like The Collection, Celebration, The Room, and Old Times. Her theatre credits also include As You Like It.
