Liam Fox is a British politician and former Secretary of State for International Trade and Secretary of State for Defence. Born on September 22, 1961, Fox has been a member of the Conservative Party and has served as the Member of Parliament for North Somerset since 1992. Prior to his political career, Fox studied medicine at the University of Glasgow and worked as a GP and civilian army medical GP. He has held various ministerial roles under John Major and has served as Shadow Health Secretary, Chair of the Conservative Party, Shadow Foreign Secretary, and Shadow Defence Secretary. In 2009, Fox was involved in the expenses scandal and was required to repay the largest amount. He was appointed Defence Secretary in 2010 by Prime Minister David Cameron.
