Linda Bove Biography
Linda Bove Waterstreet (born November 30, 1945) is a Deaf American actress, known for her role in the PBS children's series Sesame Street from 1971 to 2002. Born in Garfield, New Jersey, Bove was a Deaf child with two Deaf parents. She attended St. Joseph School for the Deaf and the Marie H. Katzenbach School for the Deaf before studying library science at Gallaudet College. Bove developed an interest in theater during her time at Gallaudet and participated in various productions. She also studied at the National Theatre of the Deaf. Bove made history as the first Deaf actress to be a member of Sesame Street's recurring cast.
