Linda Ellerbee Biography
Linda Ellerbee (born Linda Jane Smith; August 15, 1944) is an American journalist, anchor, producer, reporter, author, speaker, and commentator. She gained recognition as the longtime Washington correspondent for NBC News and host of NBC News Overnight. Ellerbee is widely known for her twenty-five-year tenure as the host of Nick News, Nickelodeon's acclaimed news program for older school-aged children and teens. Her work on NBC News Overnight was hailed by the jurors of the duPont Columbia Awards as one of the best written and most intelligent news programs ever. Ellerbee retired in 2015 after an impressive 43-year career in journalism. Born in Bryan, Texas, she attended schools in Houston and Vanderbilt University in Nashville.
