Lionel Richie

Lionel Richie is an American singer, songwriter, record producer, and television personality. Born on June 20, 1949, Richie rose to fame in the 1970s as a songwriter and co-lead singer of the Motown group Commodores. With the group, he wrote and recorded hit singles such as 'Easy', 'Sail On', 'Three Times a Lady', and 'Still'. In 1980, Richie wrote and produced the US Billboard Hot 100 number one single 'Lady' for Kenny Rogers. He continued his success as a solo artist with the release of his self-titled album in 1982, which included the hit singles 'You Are', 'My Love', and 'Truly'. Richie's second album, 'Can't Slow Down' (1983), reached number one on the US Billboard 200 chart and sold over 20 million copies worldwide.
