Lisa Lou Banes (July 9, 1955 – June 14, 2021) was an American actress known for her extensive film and television career, as well as her stage performances on Broadway and beyond. With over 80 film and television roles to her credit, Banes showcased her versatility and talent throughout her career. She received critical acclaim for her performances, earning a 1981 Theatre World Award for her role in Look Back in Anger and a Drama Desk Award nomination for Isn't it Romantic? in 1984. Banes also appeared in notable films such as Cocktail (1988), Freedom Writers (2007), Gone Girl (2014), and A Cure for Wellness (2016). Born in Chagrin Falls, Ohio, Banes honed her craft at the Juilliard School in New York City.
