Lisa Hammer (née Houle; born April 4, 1967) is an American filmmaker, actress, composer, and singer. She graduated from Emerson College with a BS in Film. Hammer is the founder of the Blessed Elysium Motion Picture Company, known for producing German Expressionist films like Pus$bucket and Crawley, created in collaboration with Ben Edlund and Doc Hammer, her ex-husband. She has also contributed to Joanie4Jackie, an anthology film project by Miranda July, featuring Hammer's film Empire of Ache starring Dame Darcy. Hammer is known for her collaboration with Dame Darcy on the weekly television show Turn of the Century, a German Expressionist-style program that aired from 1996 to 1999 and featured various New York personalities and guests such as Thurston Moore and Courtney Love.
