Lisa Hanawalt is an American illustrator, writer, and cartoonist known for her creative contributions to the entertainment industry. Born in Palo Alto, California, she is the daughter of renowned Stanford biologists Philip Hanawalt and Graciela Spivak. Hanawalt attended UCLA, where she earned a B.A. in art in 2006. She gained recognition as the production designer and producer of the widely acclaimed Netflix animated series, BoJack Horseman (2014–2020), and subsequently created and executive produced the Adult Swim show, Tuca & Bertie (2019–2022). Hanawalt has also co-hosted the podcast Baby Geniuses (2012–present) alongside comedian Emily Heller. With her versatile talent and unique illustrations, Hanawalt continues to make a significant impact in the world of art and entertainment.
