Liz Mikel, born Elizabeth Juliene Lacy on November 7, 1963, is an American actress and jazz vocalist hailing from Dallas, Texas. With over twenty years of experience in the industry, Mikel has made a name for herself on both stage and screen. She is widely recognized for her portrayal of Corrina 'Mama' Williams, the mother of star running back Brian 'Smash' Williams, on the popular NBC television series, Friday Night Lights. Mikel has also showcased her talent in various theatrical productions, including notable runs with the Dallas Theater Center and Theater Three. In addition to her stage work, she has appeared in films such as The Quest for Freedom, It's in the Water, and Welcome Home, Roscoe Jenkins.
