Lolita Chakrabarti

Lolita Chakrabarti (born 1 June 1969) is a British actress and writer. Born in Kingston upon Hull, England, to Bengali Hindu parents from India, Chakrabarti grew up in Birmingham. She graduated from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) in 1990. Chakrabarti has appeared in various screen projects, including Vigil, Showtrial, Criminal: UK, and The Casual Vacancy. She also had a role as WPC Jamila Blake in the long-running ITV drama The Bill. In addition to her on-screen work, Chakrabarti has an extensive theatre career, with credits such as Fanny and Alexander for The Old Vic. She is known for her versatility and talent in both acting and writing.
