Loretta Long Biography
Loretta Mae Long (Moore; born October 4, 1938) is an American actress best known for her portrayal of Susan Robinson on the long-running children's television show Sesame Street. She played the character from 1969 to 2017, making her one of the show's longest-serving cast members. In addition to her acting career, Long is a consultant and public speaker, focusing on multiculturalism and education. She earned her Ph.D. in urban education from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst in 1973 while still working on Sesame Street. Long has also appeared in musicals and made guest appearances on other shows, including the Flip Wilson Show. With the passing of Bob McGrath in 2022, she is now the last surviving original human main cast member of Sesame Street.
