Lorraine Toussaint

Lorraine Toussaint, born on April 4, 1960, is a Trinidadian-American actress known for her diverse roles and stellar performances. She began her career in theatre before making her mark in the film industry with notable supporting roles in movies like Breaking In (1989), Hudson Hawk (1991), and Dangerous Minds (1995). Toussaint gained widespread recognition as the lead actress in the critically acclaimed Lifetime drama series Any Day Now (1998-2002) and as defense attorney Shambala Green in the NBC legal drama Law & Order. She also appeared as a regular cast member in the NBC police procedural Crossing Jordan (2002-2003) and the TNT crime drama Saving Grace (2007-2010). Toussaint's outstanding performance in the drama film Middle of Nowhere (2012) earned her critical acclaim and an Independent Spirit Award nomination.
