Lou Dobbs is an American conservative political commentator, author, and former television host. Born on September 24, 1945, he is best known for hosting Lou Dobbs Tonight from 2003 to 2009 and again from 2011 to 2021. Dobbs started his career with CNN in 1980 as a reporter and later became the host and managing editor of the network's business program, Moneyline. He resigned from CNN in 1999 but returned in 2001, only to resign again in 2009. Dobbs also hosted Lou Dobbs Tonight on the Fox Business Network from 2011 until its cancellation in 2021. In addition, he hosts The Great America Show on iHeart Radio and loudobbs.com since 2021. Dobbs has been known for promoting the Birtherism conspiracy theory regarding former President Barack Obama's citizenship.
