    Louis Oliver Hynes is an English actor born on October 9, 2001. He gained recognition for his role as Klaus Baudelaire in the Netflix series A Series of Unfortunate Events, which aired from 2017 to 2019. Hynes also portrayed Vlad in the first season of the Hulu series The Great in 2020. Raised in Oxford, England, he comes from a family of five and plays the bass guitar alongside his acting career. In March 2020, Hynes shaved his head on Instagram to raise money for The Trussell Trust, a network of foodbanks in the UK. Prior to his notable roles, he made his debut in Garsington Opera's production of Intermezzo and played Young Alaric in the History Channel's Barbarians Rising.
