Lovette George (December 9, 1961 – September 6, 2006) was an American actress and singer known for her work in Broadway, off-Broadway, and regional productions. She appeared in shows such as Uptown... It's Hot! (1986), Carousel (revival) (1994), Marie Christine (1999), and The Musical of Musicals (The Musical!) (2003). In 1998, she understudied Kristin Chenoweth in the off-Broadway production of A New Brain. Born in Yonkers, George drew inspiration from her mother, Carol, who was a concert singer. She earned a bachelor's degree in theatre from the State University of New York at Binghamton. George received critical acclaim for her portrayal of Carrie in the Lincoln Center production of Carousel and also appeared in Uptown... It's Hot with Maurice Hines. Her performance in The Musical of Musicals (The Musical!) earned her a nomination for a 2004 Drama Desk Award.
