José Luis Castro Zahera, known professionally as Luis Zahera, is a Spanish actor born on May 23, 1966, in Santiago de Compostela. Zahera gained recognition in Galicia for his portrayal of Petróleo in the series Mareas vivas. He made his film debut in José Luis García Sánchez's Divinas palabras in 1987. Notably, Zahera won the Goya Award for Best Supporting Actor in 2019 for his role as Cabrera in The Realm. He also received another Goya Award for his supporting performance as Xan, a spiteful villager, in The Beasts in 2022. Zahera has established himself as a talented actor with numerous appearances in both Galician and Spanish films and television series.
