M. Emmet Walsh, born on March 22, 1935, is an American actor with an extensive career spanning over 200 films and television series. He is well-known for his notable supporting roles in various movies, including Earl Frank in Straight Time (1978), the Madman in The Jerk (1979), Captain Bryant in Blade Runner (1982), Harv in Critters (1988), and Walt Scheel in Christmas with the Kranks (2004). Walsh also starred as private detective Loren Vesser in Blood Simple (1984), earning him the Independent Spirit Award for Best Male Lead. Some of his other notable film appearances include Midnight Cowboy (1969), Little Big Man (1970), Silkwood (1983), Raising Arizona (1987), and Knives Out (2019).
