    Ma-Anne Dionisio Biography
    Ma-Anne Dionisio is a Filipino-Canadian singer and actress born on July 16, 1973. In 1990, her family moved from the Philippines to Canada. Dionisio gained recognition when she won a leading role in Experience Canada, a musical tour celebrating Canada's 125th anniversary. Her performance in the TV presentation of the show caught the attention of the Toronto casting department of Miss Saigon, leading to an audition for the role of Kim. Dionisio successfully secured the role and became a celebrated success, earning nominations for the Dora Mavor Moore Award for Best Actress in a Musical in 1994 and 2011. She has portrayed Kim in various international productions of Miss Saigon. Dionisio also played Éponine in the U.S. touring company of Les Misérables, making her the second Asian to portray the role in Western theater. Other notable appearances include the role of Bertrande de Rols in Martin Guerre in London.
