Willis Macon McCalman (December 30, 1932 – November 29, 2005) was an American television, stage, and film actor. Nicknamed 'Sonny', McCalman helped form the Front Street Theatre in his hometown of Memphis, Tennessee. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. McCalman appeared in various film and TV guest roles throughout his career, often in supporting parts. He showcased his versatility by taking on both dramatic and comedic roles, often portraying heavies and authoritarian figures. Some of his notable film credits include Deliverance (1972), The Concorde ... Airport '79 (1979), Fried Green Tomatoes (1991), and Falling Down (1993). McCalman also made appearances in television shows such as Cheers and Starsky and Hutch.
