Madeleine Peyroux

Madeleine Peyroux is an American jazz singer and songwriter born on April 18, 1974. She gained recognition for her vintage jazz and blues style and found mainstream success with her album Careless Love in 2004, selling half a million copies. Peyroux grew up in New York and California, influenced by her parents' love for music. At thirteen, she moved to Paris with her mother and started singing with street musicians in the Latin Quarter. She joined various jazz groups and eventually caught the attention of Atlantic Records, which released her debut album, Dreamland, in 1996.
