Madge Blake

Madge Blake (May 31, 1899 – February 19, 1969) was an American character actress known for her roles in various sitcoms. She portrayed Margaret Mondello, Larry Mondello's mother, in the CBS/ABC sitcom Leave It to Beaver, Flora MacMichael in the ABC/CBS sitcom The Real McCoys, and Aunt Harriet Cooper in the popular TV show Batman. She appeared in 96 episodes of Batman. Madge Blake also had a special connection with Gene Kelly and appeared in all his films after An American in Paris. Born in Kinsley, Kansas, she pursued acting later in life despite her father's disapproval. During World War II, she and her husband James Lincoln Blake worked on the construction of the atomic bomb in Utah for the Manhattan Project.
