Majel Barrett Biography
Majel Barrett-Roddenberry (1932-2008) was an American actress and producer. She gained fame for her various roles in the Star Trek franchise, including Nurse Christine Chapel, Number One, and Lwaxana Troi. Barrett-Roddenberry married Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry in 1969 and became an integral part of the series, participating in every series during her lifetime. She is often referred to as 'the First Lady of Star Trek.' Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Barrett-Roddenberry began acting classes as a child and attended Shaker Heights High School before studying at the University of Miami. Her voice was also featured as the onboard computer in most Star Trek series from 1966 to 2023.
