Maksim Chmerkovskiy
Maksim Chmerkovskiy is a Ukrainian-American Latin–ballroom dance champion, choreographer, and instructor. Born on January 17, 1980, in Odesa, Ukrainian SSR, Chmerkovskiy gained recognition as one of the professional dancers on the American television series Dancing with the Stars. He appeared on the show for 17 seasons, reaching the final round five times with two runner-up and two third-place finishes. On May 20, 2014, Chmerkovskiy and his partner, Olympic ice dancer Meryl Davis, won the Dancing with the Stars title. In addition to his TV appearances, Chmerkovskiy has showcased his talent in Broadway productions such as Burn the Floor and Forever Tango. He comes from a family of dancers, including his younger brother, Valentin Chmerkovskiy.
