He is widely recognized as the top-selling tropical salsa artist of all time, having sold over 12 million albums worldwide. Known for his Latin salsa numbers and ballads, Anthony has received numerous awards throughout his career, including four Grammy Awards, eight Latin Grammy Awards, and twenty-nine Lo Nuestro Awards, which is the most for any male artist. In 2009, he was honored with the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute Lifetime Achievement Award and the CHCI Chair's Lifetime Achievement Award. Additionally, Anthony holds the Guinness World Record for best-selling tropical/salsa artist and the most number-one albums on the Billboard Tropical Albums year-end charts. He has achieved 32 number one songs on the Billboard Latin Tropical Airplay chart, making him the artist with the most number one hits.
