Marc Strange Biography
Marc Strange (July 24, 1941 – May 20, 2012) was a Canadian television producer, singer-songwriter, writer, and actor. He is best known as the co-creator of CBC Television's longest running series, The Beachcombers. After dropping out of high school, Strange worked on a tobacco farm before pursuing acting. He appeared in the television film The Paper People and later returned to Canada to write the first episodes of The Beachcombers with his wife Lynn Susan. Strange was associated with the show for its entire 19-year run, and he also wrote award-winning mystery novels, including the Edgar Award-winning novel, Body Blows. His final project was a book about The Beachcombers, which was completed shortly before his death from cancer.
