Margaret John Biography
Margaret John (14 December 1926 – 2 February 2011) was a Welsh actress known for her BAFTA award-winning role as Doris O'Neill in Gavin & Stacey. Born in Swansea, John trained at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, graduating in 1950. She began her career with small parts at Swansea's Grand Theatre and made her television debut in 1956. Throughout her career, she appeared in various television shows such as The First Lady, The Troubleshooters, Softly, Softly, Blake's 7, and Lovejoy. She also had roles in films like High Hopes. Margaret John was a talented actress who made significant contributions to both stage and screen.
