Margaret Judson is an American actress known for her role as Tess Westin on the TV show The Newsroom. Born and raised in Arlington Heights, Illinois, she graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign with a degree in Broadcast Journalism in 2008. Judson began her career in broadcasting as part of the NBC Page Program, where she had the opportunity to work with influential television personalities such as Lorne Michaels, Jimmy Fallon, and Brian Williams. She later worked as a research assistant to Keith Olbermann on MSNBC's Countdown with Keith Olbermann. Judson's performance during her time at MSNBC caught the attention of Aaron Sorkin, the creator of The Newsroom, who eventually offered her a role on the show as Tess Westin.
