Maria Sharapova

Maria Sharapova is a Russian former tennis player who competed on the WTA Tour from 2001 to 2020. Born on April 19, 1987, she achieved the world number 1 ranking in singles by the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) for a total of 21 weeks. Sharapova is known for being one of the ten women, and the only Russian, to have completed a career Grand Slam. She has also won an Olympic silver medal in women's singles at the 2012 London Olympics. Throughout her career, she won a total of five major titles, including two at the French Open and one each at the Australian Open, Wimbledon, and the US Open. Sharapova's accomplishments have solidified her status as one of the top tennis competitors of her generation.
