Maria Tucci

Maria Tucci is an American actress, born on June 19, 1941. She gained recognition for her performance in The Rose Tattoo, which earned her a Tony Award nomination for Best Featured Actress in a Play in 1967. Tucci has appeared in various films and TV shows throughout her career. In the 2015 miniseries The Slap, she portrayed the character Koula. Tucci also received an OBIE award for her role as Phaedo in the play 'Talk' by Carl Hancock Rux at the Joseph Papp Public Theater. She began her acting education with Lee Strasberg and Joseph Papp, and later made her film debut in 1969. Tucci is the daughter of Laura and Niccolò Tucci, and she is the widow of editor Robert Gottlieb. Her daughter, Lizzie Gottlieb, is a documentary filmmaker.
