Marianne Faithfull

Marianne Faithfull (born 29 December 1946) is an English rock singer and actress. She gained fame in the 1960s with her hit single 'As Tears Go By' and was one of the leading female artists during the British Invasion in the United States. Faithfull began her career in 1964 after being discovered by Andrew Loog Oldham at a Rolling Stones party. Her debut album Marianne Faithfull (1965) was a commercial success, followed by several albums on Decca Records. She also appeared in films such as 'I'll Never Forget What's'isname' (1967), 'The Girl on a Motorcycle' (1968), and 'Hamlet' (1969). While her personal problems overshadowed her popularity in the 1970s, Faithfull remains an influential figure in the music industry.
