Mario Joyner (born October 3, 1961) is an American stand-up comedian and actor. He gained recognition as the host of MTV's Half Hour Comedy Hour from 1988 to 1992. Joyner was born on October 3, 1961, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and attended the University of Pittsburgh, where he excelled as a track athlete. He made his film debut in 1987 in Three Men and a Baby, and went on to star in Hangin' with the Homeboys and Pootie Tang. Joyner is known for his long-standing friendship and collaborations with comedians Chris Rock and Jerry Seinfeld. He has made guest appearances on The Chris Rock Show, Everybody Hates Chris, and Seinfeld, and provided the voice for Jackson in Bee Movie. Joyner has also opened national tours for Chris Rock and Jerry Seinfeld, and was featured in an episode of Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee with Jerry Seinfeld in July 2019.
