Marjorie Gross (April 18, 1956 – June 7, 1996) was a Canadian comedian and television writer and producer. Born in New York City, she was raised in Toronto, Ontario. Gross attended Branksome Hall and was known for her comedic talent, often being the class clown. She began her comedy career doing stand-up at local clubs before moving to New York City. Gross auditioned for Saturday Night Live during the 1980-1981 season but didn't secure a role. However, she formed friendships with cast members such as Dan Aykroyd and Gilda Radner. Gross went on to become a successful writer and producer, working on shows like Seinfeld, Newhart, The Larry Sanders Show, Get a Life, and Square Pegs.
