Mark Ronald Holden (born 27 April 1954) is an Australian singer, actor, TV personality, record producer, songwriter, and barrister. In the 1970s, he was a pop star with four top 20 hit singles, including 'Never Gonna Fall in Love Again' and 'I Wanna Make You My Lady'. Holden gained popularity through his appearances on the national pop music show, Countdown, where he was known for his clean-cut image and white dinner suit. He was given the nickname 'The Carnation Kid' for his habit of handing out carnations to girls on set. In the 1980s, Holden worked as a songwriter in Los Angeles, providing material for artists such as Meat Loaf and Joe Cocker. He also served as a judge on the TV series Australian Idol and The X Factor.
