Mark Hoppus (born March 15, 1972) is an American musician, songwriter, and producer. He is best known as the bassist and co-lead vocalist for the rock band Blink-182. Hoppus is the only member who has appeared on all of the band's albums. He is also a part of the pop rock duo Simple Creatures. Hoppus developed an interest in skateboarding and punk rock during junior high. At the age of 15, he received a bass guitar from his father. In 1992, Hoppus moved to San Diego and formed Blink-182 with Tom DeLonge and drummer Scott Raynor. The band went on to achieve multi-platinum success with albums like Enema of the State (1999).
