Mark Lawson is an English journalist, broadcaster, and author known for his work in culture and the arts. He gained recognition as the presenter of the BBC Radio 4 arts program Front Row from 1998 to 2014. Lawson has also been a columnist for The Guardian and hosted Mark Lawson Talks To... on BBC Four from 2006 to 2015. Born in Hendon, north London, he was raised in Leeds and attended St Columba's College in St Albans. Lawson holds a degree in English from University College London. He began his career as a freelance contributor to various publications in 1984, including The Times and The Universe.
