Mark Metcalf Biography
Mark Metcalf (born March 11, 1946) is an American television and film actor known for his portrayal of antagonistic and aggrieved authority figures. He gained recognition for his role as sadistic ROTC officer Douglas C. Neidermeyer in the 1978 comedy film Animal House, a character he later reprised in music videos for Twisted Sister. Metcalf also appeared as The Maestro on two episodes of Seinfeld and gained further fame for his recurring role as The Master on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and its spin-off Angel. Born in Findlay, Ohio, he was raised in Webster Groves, Missouri, and graduated from Westfield High School in 1964. Metcalf attended the University of Michigan for engineering.
