Mark Allen Mothersbaugh (born May 18, 1950) is an American musician, best known as the co-founder, lead singer, and keyboardist of the new wave band Devo. He gained prominence in the late 1970s with hits like 'Whip It,' which peaked at No. 14 on the US charts. Besides his work with Devo, Mothersbaugh has composed music for television series, films, and video games through his production company, Mutato Muzika. He notably composed the music for the long-running animated series Rugrats and its related films. Mothersbaugh has released four solo studio albums and received the Richard Kirk award at the BMI Film and TV Awards in 2004 for his contributions to film and television music.
