Mark Rowley

Sir Mark Peter Rowley is a British senior police officer who has served in various high-ranking positions within the police force. Born in November 1964, Rowley is currently the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis, a position he has held since September 2022. Prior to this role, he served as the Assistant Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis for Specialist Operations of the Metropolitan Police Service and held leadership positions in counter-terrorism policing. Rowley previously served as the Chief Constable of Surrey Police and Acting Deputy Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police. He retired from the police in March 2018 but returned to the force in July 2022 as Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis.
