Mark Umbers Biography
Mark Umbers (born 17 June 1973) is an English actor known for his work in theatre, film, and television. He was born in Harrogate, West Riding of Yorkshire, and grew up in Wetherby. Umbers attended Malsis School and later Sedbergh School. After graduating from Oxford University in 1995 with a degree in Latin and Greek Literature and Philosophy, Umbers began his acting career. He made his television debut in the BBC dramas The Student Prince and Berkeley Square in 1997. Umbers' theatre debut came in the lead role of The Pirates of Penzance. He went on to work with Trevor Nunn and John Caird at the Royal National Theatre, appearing in productions such as The Merchant of Venice and My Fair Lady.
